A hippopotamus said to be causing troubles on farmlands has reportedly been trapped and killed by fishermen from Samanaji town in Koko Besse Local Government Area, Kebbi State.
After trailing the animal’s movements for some time, it was killed by teams of fishermen.
It was learnt that the Council’s Chairman Bello Sarkin Gabas, as well as members of the council, have visited the area.
Samanaji town is situated on the banks of River Niger, therefore, there is a constant encounter between humans and some endangered aquatic animals. More photos below..
